Here my Harley Boy waits patiently by the refrigerator door. Maybe he thinks there's food in there for him. Or maybe he knows that's where I keep the milk. Ya' think?!?! No........!!
He's waiting for his ICE! Harley is OBSESSED with the ice machine! Whenever he sees me in the kitchen, he comes running. And it has to be CRUSHED! I put my cup under there and when it's on "crush" it sprays a fine mist of ice all over him. He likes that! But that's not enough. I hold my hand under the ice machine and crush a few pieces for him to "kick" around the kitchen floor! Only problem, it makes little puddles all over the floor. So now I throw the ice across the floor into the family room. He goes chasing after it and will play with it on the carpet. That way it eventually melts into the carpet and dries! He also likes to walk around with it between his teeth. So, all you see is this black ball of fur and a little white piece of ice hanging out his mouth! Harley, you spoiled little cat...guess you have ME trained pretty well!
But the reason for my blog title....that little sweet, innocent looking kitty! Well, this morning I fixed me a bowl of cereal and a piece of peanut butter toast for breakfast. I finished eating and laid the cereal bowl on the counter and headed to the powder room. As I was coming out I heard a loud rattle, a huge thump and saw a black fur ball scooting by me as fast as he could run. He had jumped on the counter, knocked my bowl over (which, by the way, still had a little milk and cereal left in it, and knocked the jar of peanut butter off the counter. The peanut butter jar was rolling across the floor, and milk and cereal had splattered all over the toaster and it's buttons, as well as on my counter and back splash. What a mess! I'm STILL trying to figure out how he did it! I guess the moral of this story is...always rinse your bowl out and place in the dishwasher BEFORE you leave the kitchen! Or maybe...NEVER leave a little black cat unattended! ~~Annie
LOL...I don't think I've ever known a cat who loved ICE! Well, first time for everything right?? What a lil' stinker he is:) Congrtats on your shop, hope it goes well and you make lots of $$$!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute cat you have - and I love that big fluffy tail! Harley looks sweet! How funny that he likes ice! Is Harley a main coon? He looks like a cat my parents have that is a main coon - and he has a big fluffy tail that he loves to show off.
ReplyDeleteYour new site Homespun Annie is wonderful.
Blessings,
Andrea
I just love Harley. He is an exceptionally interesting and darling kitty. He is SOMETHING ELSE!!!
ReplyDeleteYep...he IS exceptionally interesting! And sometimes I say that tongue in cheek! LOL Andrea, I picked him up at a shelter, but I'm pretty sure he's not a main coon. He's way too small and doesn't have the big feet. My friend has a main coon and could probably knock Harley across the floor with one swipe! LOL! ~~Annie
ReplyDeleteI loved the story, Harley is such beautiful and entertaining kitty. I never know what my brats are going to do next but one thing for sure is that it's always something completely unexpected. Thank you for sharing.

I know that feeling, cats are way too smart.

Hey Annie! My cat Spaz is the same way. Our dispenser is also on the outside of the fridge and when she hears hubby putting ice in his glass, she runs for it. She would rather have the cubed, not the crushed though! Aren't they so funny!!

What a cute story! Thanks for sharing Harley with us!
ReplyDeleteI love your Harley stories and pictures. Now, if you wanted him to play with the ice...he wouldn't have anything to do with it. Like you said, he has you well trained. Have a great weekend.

Awww your cat is beautiful. I always wanted a pure black cat. Mine won't drink out of a bowl. So everytime you go to the bathroom he's right on your feet. Jumps up on the bathtub and waits for you to turn the water on. He lets it run down his head and then sticks his paw in the water and licks it off his paw. Sure wish i knew how to get him to drink out of a bowl. Because there has been times when i walk out of the room and forget the water is running. One day i left and the water was running for hours. Not good. LOL

ReplyDeleteOh Annie~ our kitties love to scoot ice across the kitchen floor too! They usually end up going under the stove or the refrigerator where they eventually melt too, but at least I don't step in the little puddle. :)
ReplyDeleteHarley is just a little bundle of fun and joy, isn't he? He's such a fun kitty and I enjoy reading all about his little antics. If you ever get tired of him, he can find a good home here in Maine. :)
