Change is good!

I've been busy making lots of Americana items. Even though these have already been sold, I am working on lots more and will be listing a little each day at my Olde Annie Primitives store. I've got more sunflower gatherings in the making and more pinwheels with sunflowers. And of course, lots more other gatherings, hangings and shelf sitters coming!

So one change is from Easter to Americana creations. Americana is my favorite to make, so you'll see lots listed!

But the big change is I have decided to take a break from my tuck and ornie sales. I spent the last 18 months making my tucks as people bought them, offering over 90 different tucks and ornies. Yep...just went and counted! OVER 90!! WOW! I didn't even realize I made that many different kinds!

Well, it 'bout slam wore me out! LOL! And it got to where I couldn't "create" anymore. I love making my gatherings and hangings and make-dos and other prims. Soooooooooo..........I have changed my tuck and ornie shop to just a pattern shop. I will still be offering tucks and ornies on my website, but they will be those I've already made and have ready to mail out. So if you see a set you like, better grab it...'cause that may be the only set you'll see.

And I still have a few listings for my tucks in my Etsy shop. Most of those I'll have to make up. But once those listings expire, I won't be adding more.

The stress is now gone, too! Knowing I had orders to make up and get out....well, it just wasn't fun anymore. I can't count the number of "all nighters" trying to get orders made up and shipped out. So it's time for a change!

Yes....change IS good!

  2. It does sound like you need a break! I have found that to be true with candle making too, it's fun, until you *have* to do it all day long, then it's too much like work, LOL!

  5. You are right Annie, when "stress" enters the picture it isn't fun anymore then it's time to step back a reaccess the situation! I've done the same thing, I think as a crafter we all have! Sometimes you just need to stop and smell the flowers, right?! I've really enjoyed seeing all you create and some of your patterns have been fun to make!
    ~Blessings to you.

  6. Good for you! It will be great to see more of your creations. I had to do the same when I was painting/selling wood cut outs on Ebay. It was not any fun, knowing that you had lots of orders to fill and get out in the mail. Since I have fell in love with the primitive world..I only list the item I have sewn...one of a kind and mailed immediately upon receipt of the payment. Much less stress and I have been much happier! Keep up the GREAT work, Annie! Your Friend, Donna

  8. Yes Annie change is good...especially if it eliminates the STRESS....because that is not good for anyone! When our crafting business is no longer fun it is always good to look at how you can make it fun again and do what you love. Take care of yourelf!

  10. Annie,
I know how you feel. When we create something that is so wonderful and get lots of orders...it is great until we feel like that is the only thing we are making and that we have lost our creative soul. This has happened to me many times in my 26 years of doing craft shows. So....yes, change is good!! Good for your creative soul!!
    hugs,
    ~Cindy~
