Winter Storm Warning!

I'm sitting here next to the Christmas Tree in my living room and looking out the window. The snow is starting to fall hard now. There's a major storm system coming through and they're calling for blizzard-like conditions and winds up to 60 mph. They've told everyone to prepare for power outages. This happend two years ago at the very same time. People all around us had no power for about nine days, many not getting it back until Christmas Eve. Justin's school was closed that last week before winter vacation. We were so fortunate, though, in our neighborhood. We never lost power at all. That's what I'm praying for this time.

David, Katie and I drove up to Bellevue this morning to get our annual Honey Baked Ham. We wanted to make sure to get out and back home before the snow started. Roads are still quite messy out there from the last storm, but at least the main highways are pretty clear. We also decided to stop at Fred Meyer which is like a Wal-Mart Super Store. Wanted to get most of my holiday grocery shopping done plus pick up our rib roast for Christmas Eve. You can imagine what that store was like! The lines for the checkout were going down the isles. People were parking there carts to shop because they couldn't get down the isles. David was smart and sat in the car reading his paper. I had Katie wait in the line with the cart and I did my shopping, making my way back to the cart when my hands were full. This went on for almost an hour before we got to the checkout. Well, we made it through and back home before it started snowing. So now we're all hunkering down for the weekend. Got lots of bread, lots of milk and our Honey Baked Ham! We're set!

  2. Thanks, Dena. We're staying warm and still have power. It's turned into a blizzard now! But I'm loving it!
