Can you believe this!! I'm being taken over by the ferns! This is (or was) a walkway along the side of my house. The hostas to the left are actually on a stone-wall ledge that comes up to about the height of my knees. So you can imagine how big those ferns are! They're up to over the bottom of the windows! You can still walk through here, but not a good idea after it's rained! LOL! The double windows look out from my dining and living room. I've had my blinds off due to the painting, so the clematis create a huge "punch" as we walk by the windows. May have to keep the blinds off a little longer! Okay...see that large cedar at the back right of the picture? When we planted it 8 years ago, it wasn't much taller than me.
That's it...enveloping our shed! I love this corner of the yard. That's a hydrangea bush to the right, beautiful when it starts blooming. Behind it, in the corner is a white lilac bush-turned-tree! Lots of green in this corner right now. I need to get in there with some color!
I just love my water pump, but it, too, will soon be "taken over"! lol! Guess I'll have to move it yet again. Seems just when I find the perfect place for it, the flowers or plants start hiding it! Wish I'd gotten this picture while the blooms were still purple and before the slugs got to the leaves. We tend to get quite a few slugs around here! I've learned the hard way not to go out in the yard barefooted! Even brought one into my house last night, guess on the bottom of my shoe. Saw this black "thing" on my floor, went to pick it up to throw in the trash and YUCK!...discovered quickly just what it was!
And more blooms! I bought three different colors, but the pink I planted in the middle really ended up being white. When I bought them there were no blooms on them, so I was going totally by the little tag in the dirt. Someone must have switch them, for there's no pink there! LOL! This window box sits outside my kitchen sink! Hey...gotta have SOMETHING nice to look at when I'm doing those dishes! The box is about ready for a redo...wish I'd thought about it BEFORE planting the petunias! I want to paint it black. That'll look good against the brown and white.
Just wanted to share a bit of my OUTside, since my INside is still in disarray from painting. But I'm getting there...slowly getting there! ~~Annie
