A Vigil For My Kitty!

Our sweet little kitty, Trixie, has gone missing! This morning when I came downstairs I noticed Trixie was no where around. She usually comes down for her breakfast soon after I come down. But when I didn't see her I started thinking about it...I didn't remember seeing her yesterday either! But with yesterday being Sunday and everyone at home, it's not unusual for me not to see her. Others will feed her and she will then be off to sleep in one of her many hiding places. We had been cleaning house on Saturday and I had my son take several things out to the garage. The door was left open for a bit. However, Trixie has always been afraid to go outside, venturing out on the front porch occasionally only to immediately run back into the house. Once when she ventured out shortly, we closed the front door, not knowing she had gone out. She immediately came to the front door crying loudly to come back in. My daughter Katie says she remembers seeing Trixie on Saturday night. No one remembers seeing her after that, however. So if Katie DID see her Saturday night, that makes it all the more strange to me. We didn't have the door open on Sunday for any length of time!

We have searched this house up and down...under beds, in closets, drawers, boxes and in our garage. No Trixie.
What worries me is she's not an outside cat and I don't know how well she'll survive. I walked around the neighborhood and knocked on doors. And I've put up a few posters in our immediate area. But it has started raining now and I will have to continue putting the rest of my posters up tomorrow. In the meantime, I pray she has allowed someone to take her into their home where she will be warm and fed. And that person will see my poster and call. Please say a little prayer for my kitty! ~~Annie

  2. Annie,
I pray you find your kitty. I have 2 cats of my own so I know how awful it feels when you can't find one of them. My prayers are with you. Dianne

  5. Oh Annie, I do hope your kitty shows up. How sad you all must be wondering where she is. She looks just like our other kitty Glory. He's the healthy one. :)
I will certainly be praying for her return to you all.
Check your filing cabinet in the basement if you have one. My old kitty, Shnoodles was closed up in ours for three days once before we found her. Thankfully she was fine and didn't shred any of the paperwork and had a good strong bladder. LOL! Hugs & blessings to you~ Birgit

  6. Thanks so much Birgit! No filing cabinets been opened lately...but I think I WILL go check out some drawers. Still...in my heart I don't think she's in here. She didn't like enclosed spaces and would cry loudly if ever trapped. Still have my fingers crossed someone will find her. ~~Annie

  7. Hi Annie....
This is a terrible thing to go through ... Our cat back in the day used to go missing and I would get so mad, but he would come back ... usually knocked up a little. But he was a love in our life so I always forgave him ... we lost him to cancer a few years back but I miss him always ... Anyway, check any tiles in your ceiling? Maybe he got into somewhere he did not belong ... Any decks nearby? If he did get out and he is confused ...Goodluck to you! I will say a prayer. Life is not so bring after all ...LOL maybe he is just giving you something to do and is watching you look for him!!!
