Reflecting on the Past Decade!

Out with the old! In with the new! That's true with not just the new year! Several of my Christmas presents will replace the old! And now I must take my yearly trip to the Goodwill! (That sounded funny, as I practically LIVE at the Goodwill!) Ha!

It's been over a week since my last post and I have enjoyed it...doing absolutely NOTHING! Oh, I DID do a little after-Christmas shopping. My daughter dragged me out the day after Christmas...to THE MALL! (I still haven't forgiven her!) I don't really look for the after Christmas deals as I have more than I need NOW! I'm trying to DE-clutter here! I DO look for the wrapping paper and such, and I like to hit the craft stores for those things I might use in my Christmas crafts! But I'm having a most difficult time trying to get motivated and back to my sewing. After a grueling five months of nonstop sewing, this little break has felt wonderful!

Wow...where DID this year go? Where did this DECADE go!?!? So as I sit here at this computer...realizing I spend WAY too much time here...I reflect on the changes this past decade has brought for me and I'd like to share them with you.

This past decade...

...I've seen the move to a new home in a new state...still far, far away from my roots!

...I've seen the FIRST day of school for my youngest and the LAST day of school for my two oldest!

...I've lived through my first major earthquake and thus can say I've lived through hurricanes, a major tornado, the worst ice storm in Alabama's history and now, a major earthquake! What is there left?

...I have traveled cross country numerous times...visiting state after state, parks, memorials, monuments. Seeing mountains and lakes, waterfalls and dams, oceans and streams...and realizing the beauty of this great country!

...I met my very best friend, Shelley and her dear mom, Donna. What would I do without the two of you!

...I have seen the passing of both my husband's brother, Andy and my own dear brother, Jim. I miss you both very much!

...after a four year hiatus from crafting, I have returned to my sewing machine and now have not one, but two websites to sell my creations!

...I have discovered the wonderful world of blogging and through IT and my various groups have met some of the most beautiful ladies out there. What a wonderful connection this little machine has brought!

...I have learned that ten years is such a short time and is gone in the blink of an eye. And now I'm left to wonder what the next ten years will bring!

And now...I would LOVE to read your own reflections of this past decade!

The photo above is the Space Needle at New Years! It's a beautiful sight! This year we will spend our new year's eve quietly....pizza for the kids, and hubby and I will go out to dinner. Then we will all enjoy New Year's at the Needle...from the comfort of our home! There's rain in the forecast, no crowds to fight, no worries about finding a place to park and it's SO much warmer!

Hope you all have a fun and SAFE new year's eve! And
I WISH YOU ALL HEALTH, HAPPINESS AND PROSPERITY IN THE NEW YEAR!
Hugs to you all! ~~Annie
