A Tribute to Trixie!

I have some sad news I don't think I've shared on here. Harley's big sister, Trixie, is no longer with us. She had become an indoor/outdoor cat and got to the point she preferred outdoor. She would cry constantly if we didn't let her out and she would also scoot out whenever someone opened a door. But she always came back whenever she was ready to eat or to nap or to retire for the night. Back before Christmas, I let her out one last time for the evening, and she never came back. We have coyotes out here and I'm so afraid one may have gotten her. She would have never gone to anyone because she was so skittish. And she always knew to come home. We don't live near a busy road, so that's why I fear she was attacked. Her little Christmas stocking stayed filled until I took down the decorations. I walked all through the neighborhood, as well as the nearby woods numerous times! I still look for her as I drive in and out of my neighborhood each day.

I miss seeing Trixie come to my kitchen window, crying to come in. I miss her sleeping with me whenever my husband is out of town. She always seemed to know when he was gone. She'd be waiting on my bed on those nights. I miss her cry to let me know her bowl was empty. And I miss the way she and Harley had started playing with each other. These are a few of my favorite pics of Trixie. She was a very photogenic cat!

We miss you Trixie and will never forget you!

I've been under the weather a bit and my arm is giving me fits. Hopefully the worst of whatever I had the last couple of days is gone. I have too many orders to get out to be sick!

Hubby will be out of town all next week. But don't fear, I no longer sleep alone! Harley has now taken Trixie's place at the foot of my bed! LOL!

Hope everyone has a Happy Valentine's Day! ~~Annie

  2. I bet Harley misses Trixie too. We had an indoor/outdoor cat that never came home. The hardest part was not knowing what happened to him. I always tried to make myself believe he ended up at a home that needed some kitty love. Trixie looks like such a sweetie, I love all the poses you captured her in.

  5. Annie,
I am sorry to hear of the loss of your Trixie. Our pets bring so much joy and comfort into our lives with their unconditional love. It is so hard to say good bye to them. May you find comfort in knowing all the love you gave her.

  8. Annie, I know how sad you must be having Trixie gone. I've had so many of my cats go missing...wondering where they are. I'm so glad you have another "fur-baby" to fill her spot. Hugs, Kristine

  9. Annie, Sorry to hear of your loss of Trixie. I, too, lost many a cat to whatever. I tried to keep them inside, but....... I even bought a leash for the last cat so he didn't stray too far, but health problems took him.
Hope you get better soon. You have the olympics to go to!!!!

  12. Sorry to hear about your kitty. I have had that happen before as well. The best thing is that your kitty got to spend her possible last night outside where she loved it. I just hate not knowing what happend to my kitties. Sometimes its easier to know than keep wondering if they are ok. BUT, I also have lots cats that would never get too far away and have them turn up 4-6 months later. Not to get your hopes up but it has really happend! I would go adopt one after they leave for a good while and then they turn up again to find a new buddy..lol. Lots of good wishes! I hope things turn out well and don't worry... if she's meant to come back... she will. If not, she's with a bunch of my good kitties in the sky. Especially my Dori-Bug :)

What pretty pictures of her as well. It looked like she loved having her pics taken. Have a good night and hope your arm gets to feeling better.

  16. Annie I know the feeling. Back here in NC we now have those dreaded beast which attack everything. Brought here to help reduce the deer population. Now they are eating our animals. I have lost 18 cats. Yes 18. We live on a farm and one day at my back door stood a cyote. I called a neighbor and he said we had 5 down here. Now i have no cats. i do have a pitbul and i think she can take care of herself. i am so sorry for your loss. janice, NC
